I have an 18' Jet boat and there is carpet next to the motor on the outside of the stringers. Im going to pull the carpet up, how do I get the glue off without messing up the finish on the floor?????? It has some sort of black epoxy coating over the fiberglass.
No responses huh.
Maybe acetone. Probably not easy to remove. Even if you can.
Working on your jetboat?;)

i just did the same thing used xylene & steel wool . it came off & left the floor looking like new. got it at home depot for eight bucks. i was gonna use acetone but it evaporates too fast.

1/4 inch drill with a "fine" wire wheel, works great....Vic

When I pulled my carpet out, the glue came out with the carpet. It think is because there was a gas leak by that tank. Gas is a good way to get it off.
ive used jasco adhesive stripper,...worked out the best for my proj.!
watch out! dont leave it on too long! it will etch into the fiberglass!

Gas works great, just be sure to work in a well ventilated area free of an ignition source (outdoors).
