You won't need sun tan lotion.

We had family up there and have made a bunch of visits. It can be cold and drizzly for weeks on end. The summer is better and can have a few weeks of less clouds and drizzle... :D
There is a ton of water and lakes to run on. Sammamish, Washington and the Puget sound. Vancouver is a cool place to go too with all the islands to visit.
Most folks have cabin cruisers to stay warm, and drop the plastic when it gets warm enough.
I think summer is a short couple of months.
Here is a cool map link. http://apps.ecy.wa.gov/shorephotos/maps/ce.htm#bottom

If it doesn't rain everyday its a drought...
Your feet web over in two days...
Don't go up any high rises, they have the nations highest suicides...
Lots of loggerheads in the water (thats wood, not a turtle)
But otherwise, you'll really like it there...

People up here boat not so much in Seattle but in Lake Roosevelt. It is about 200 miles east of Seattle or on the Columbia River at the gorge to listen to the concerts on the weekends. Lake Washington in Seattle is too crowded and to many rules and regulations

It's really nice only in the summer. Summers have been lasting till' Oct. the last few yrs giving us almost 4 mo's. You've got it all- lots of small lakes, a couple big ones and plenty of room to roam in the Puget Sound. San Jaun islands are really nice. A lot of people fish or have pleasurecrafts. Performance boats mostly hang on the lakes wich can get real crowded. There are some big tunnels and cigarettes but not nearly enough IMO! You can access Lake WA (where hydros race) from the sound via locks but like 78jetser said it gets crowded and real choppy. Not to fun in anything under 25ft. CxCx
