...got a wreckless driving ticket at Havasu this weekend?
Something about passing a cop at 90MPH on the river near the sandbar?
Hmmmmmm.....

Shouldn't that be a Wreck-Less ticket....what's the problem? Unsafe for conditions?

Havasu Hangin'

I hear cops don't like to be passed close enough to get sprayed.
We'll need to narrow it down...I don't think it was MMD...
Hmmmmm.....

it was a DCB cat. Can't remember what size. I think the color was red. Is this the one you're talking about?
I saw it happen. From my viewpoint it looked like a close pass not only to the cops but also some other boats. I said to myself that he's probably gonna get pulled over and sure enough.....

he would have been free and clear if he had kept going up river. But once the cop saw him slow down and go around to the other side of the sand bar the chase was on.

I thank everyone selling me out or at least hinting.... I was doing 92, when some a**hole pulled off the sand bar and with two boats coming at me and one boat floating in the middle I figured stay on it and drive because I am in control, with the distance I had to go it would of been unsafe to let off, so I let her eat. The cop was pissed cause he was all wet, and then to find out that he lives a couple of houses away from me. I still got a ticket and that was no thanks to my wife saying he was just upset that his boat was slower. But he ran me through all the steps, and notified me that I have a court date on the 24th of may... which is perfect because I will be out there getting ready for M-day. Thanks for playing the game... I'm sure this is thanks to GrassPay$, who is not on the forums or at the lake, but the boat ran great all weekend, unlike this guy who is running twin viper motors.

Yeah I'd be mad like that cop too, if I was soaked by a boat doing 92 through a crowded area. At least you didn't have any parts fail or catch a wake wrong, run over another boat, or kill anyone's family ........... this time.
I can understand you not expecting the unexpected, but not expecting someone to pull out of the sandbar???
I hope your insurance company is understanding of the whole issue.

Fight it? Hmmm...
Ya know, I've gotten a few tickets in my time, and without exception, deserved them (usually deserved worse than I got). As much as it hurts to admit it, usually the cops are right, which is good since they're trained to recognize and deal with situations, and that's what we trust them to do. Not once have I thought of trying to fight it, or weasel out on a technicality. In my more enlightened moments I actually used the experiences to try and learn something and appreciate the fact that the outcome wasn't (much) worse than it could have been.
Now I wasn't there and didn't see your incident, so perhaps I shouldn't be commenting. However, I did pass the sandbar several times this weekend and didn't top 30 mph. Usually I was barely on plane because of the traffic. Maybe your situation was different, or maybe not???
Let's just appreciate the fact that noone got hurt...
-brian
ps: I've done some wfo passes past the sandbar too, just not when it was real busy.

I think that Eliminator sucks- I saw it out there. Now, I am a huge fan of open bow boats, but a 36' canopy cat with an open bow is just plain stupid IMO. Way to ruin a nice deck. Plus, now knowing that it doesn't run makes me like it even less.
Too bad about the ticket--I've watched people fly by the sandbar in triple digits many times. I guess it just depends on the times. Good luck with this Union--by the way, love the truck and boat pic posted in Tow Rigs.
