Sounds about normal for most boat shops. They'll do it when they can.:frown:

Thats not the answer I was looking for. We are starting to get pissed. Had to cancel a trip already for it. But we didnt make the plans until he told us it would be done last week.

Boat Shop Calender:
1. hours = days
2. days = weeks
3. weeks = months

We are dying here. He told us a week or two, three weeks ago. And it is still not done. And we are just sitting here reading about every one elses trips. Atleast we havent paid for it yet so that should motivate him a little.

I hope you're not one of those guys who sat home all winter, then when spring arrived you decide to take your boat for an instant repair or modification. There are a few more out there who will want a ring and valve job before Easter...

I actually made the apointment for the sterring and tune up about 2 months ago so he could order all the parts and what not. I didnt just drive up and drop it off.

When will it be done? TWO WEEKS
That is like your wife asking you if she has put on weight
(NO)
It's a typical standard answer, no real truth involved here.
Tell the shop you are pulling it out.

I can tell you from personal experience, that it should take approx 2-6 hours from start to finish depending on type of steering. If it is assisted, should take 2, full hydraulic 6. That is if you have someone doing it who knows what to do and has learned the little tricks.

To properly calculate boat repair hours, use the "dog years" formula. :D
