I went with the two pair of the MB Quarts. There are better sounding speakers, but they sound great, and what sold me was the speaker grills. They don't dent, and they are thru bolted in place. Love them.
I also have two sets of the Eclipse four way 6X9's, and they sound a little better, but I had to go with aftermaket billet grills, because the mesh grills dent and then fall off. A big added expense.
Look at your application as well as the sound issue.

I agree wth ya there.. Great speaker... Especially for what I USE TO get tehm for...
Out of the speaker you chose, I like the JL's... Piont source aren't that good in a boat. The Eclipse regular line sounds much better..

Yes on the Eclipse. I have 6 of the 4-way Eclipses and they are the way to go for a boat. The Polk Momos are supposed to be real nice. All of them are great, but don't do the Point Sources for boat use. Put them in your vehicles, but not in an open envrionment. I was allowed to borrow a pair to put in line with the 4-ways, and the SE8495s won. If you put your ear right down to the 8992s, they are more detailed; voices guitar strings and such, but stand away from each speaker and you hear the 8495s better and clearer.
I have Point Sources all through my truck, but they don't run well in boats.

I have had the best luck with
MB Quart And Eclipse in a boat environment......STAY away from the point source speakers in a boat, you will constantly be replacing them due to blown tweeters.
