2007 Supercross Schedule released
Saturday, April 1, 2006: Posted: 10:30 a.m. EST (05:30 GMT)
Anaheim CA -- Supercross.com's Internet Media Group announced today the 2007 Supercross Schedule, with more races added, including 5 additional in Anaheim.
In addition to the acronym-laden THQ'D-AMPMeD-PACESsupercross Series, the equally clumsy SX-AE Sports-World GP Supercross presented by AST'D Series is a second series run in conjunction with the THQ'D-AMPeD-PACESsupercross Series. There are four exceptions with the SX-AE Sports-World GP Supercross presented by AST'D Series: 1. Addition of two events in Canada, 2. Subtracting the event in Daytona, 3. Different sanctioning bodies, 4. Separate scoring of championship series & points.
Says Supercross.com Chairman Rick Johnson "Certainly, this progressive thinking of two series is something we hope other major sports like the NFL, FIFA, Formula 1, and MLB will adopt in the near future. It helps make everything about our sport easier to understand, especially to new fans and media worldwide. Words like "ground-breaking" and "revolutionary" immediately come to mind. This is undoubtedly what our sport needs to reach the next level."
2007 THQ'D-AMPMeD-PACESsupercross / SX-AE Sports-World GP Supercross presented by AST'D Schedule:
December 2 - Toronto, Canada
December 9 - Calgary, Canada
January 1 - Anaheim CA
January 4 - Phoenix AZ

Johnson continues "Everyone knows that southern California is the center of Supercross, so it makes sense that there are more races in Anaheim now. The fact is, Supercross is now truly global (sic)."
