Anyone know of any good contractors who will install hard wood floors on a raised foundation house? I am looking for a super anal retentive master. I am VERY picky. I want the old school, nail and glue, then sand, then epoxy installation method, NO ENGINEERED FLOORS. If you know anyone, let me know...
Oh, I am in San Diego......

Ed Moore. By far the best installer I have known. Wood, laminates, base, etc. Its all he does.
619-888-8608 I let him know you'd be calling.

I'll give him a call. I have an old 40s house and I want him to match up the kitchen with the hard wood floors in the rest of the house......

There's a guy named Pete Cowan who does some seriously trick hardwood installs. Exotic woods, designs, french knots, and refurbs he can do it all. I'll hunt for his number if things don't work with Mandy's guy..

The best thing I ever did was rip the Carpet out of my House in Fletcher Hills, and Have the Original Hardwood floors redone... Made a huge difference..

78Eliminator- I install / refinsh hardwood for a living, tell who ever you chose to do your install that you want moisture cureing urathane (LENMAR). This stuff holds up the best, better than any water or oilbase finishes. I use it in alot bars and dance floors were heavy trafic is an issue.

The same thing was done to my house. My house was built in
1960's, it's all hardwood floors. The people that had the house
before me had the kitchen/dining room floor replaced with
matching hardwood. They did a top notch job, the only reason I
know it was done is because the prior owners told me.
I have the brochures from the company that did the job, but I'm at
work so I'm not able to dig them up.
It was probably a local contractor, but I'll check it out.
If it looks like you could use the information I'll post it later.
It was some kind of swedish floor finish. I'm sure it wasn't cheep.

Ok, the company that installed my floor either moved or their out
of business. The company that supplied the finish products are
out of Washington. Their Glitsa Swedish floor pruducts 206-763-2855.
Looking at my floors, they got the shit you want.
Nothing like talking to yourself.
