I'd say it was his shoe. You can see it come off as his legs are up in the air under slow motion. Is that steam or the brakes being locked up? When the car hits the body, you can see the front of the car dive on that side. I don't think he lived. The force on his head hitting the hood/ cowl scattered his brain.

That happened to me at the 1972 Mardi-Gras. I was standing on the side of I-10 after a motorcycle wreck and a Mustang ran up over the curb and knocked me 155 feet. Broken femur, pelvic and dislocated knee. Docs said I allmost lost the leg with the broken femur. said i wouldn't walk. They were wrong, fortunately. I am good as ever except for the loose knee.

He even bounced 3 or 4 feet after the car past him. DAMN!!!
He hesitated at the end... if he would have just kept going he might have made it.

I have been on a lot of vehicle vs. pedestrian calls, and they always get knocked right out of their shoes. Never fails.

What am I doing wrong? The AOL media player comes up and says it is playing but nothing is coming out. It uses Real One Player...no sound either.

That is so funny - the first time I ever went back East I made the comment about the sign being spelled wrong (Dear Crossing) and thought it was incredulous they left it that way. When we came back through I commented again and was told "thats not spelled wrong, it means there is an old folks home nearby" NOT Deer Crossing like we have out here.
