Do speakers sound good in these or are they a waste of money?

We use them when there is no panel available to mount them in. The speakers normally sound better when they are in some sort of enclosure.

The prefabs are usually pretty good. If you make them yourself and they're too small, you'll get an exaggerated midrange making the speakers sound muffled... Materials, time, and your own labor will easily run over the 20.00 they charge for them...

Thanks guys. My boat is an 86 Lavey open bow with low freeboard and no side panels, if there were side panels I couldn't bolt my seats in. So I was thinking of using the boxes, any other Ideas?

Here is what I'm doing in my new ride. They're made of plexiglass.

Rocky, if you go with the generator setup for power, would you have a noise issue with the engine cover up? I know the stereo will over power the generator, but was wondering about the extra sounds.

Rick, the Honda EU2000 is super quite and even a stereo at normal volume would cover the sound of generator, no problem.
