Visited my local ford dealer buddy , who let my son sit in this
car  .Now he's going to egg his buddies at high school :D
They don't even let you sit in these things at the auto show  .
Anyhow, they surely have a price fixing on these new models till it's been
on the road for a year :crossx: . I remember when somebody paid 200K for
the first Viper when the MFRP was only 68 K  . The GT 40 should be
around 160-175 US . Here they charge 280 K cdn if you badly want it. The
problem with this one as you can see , is the ugly rear bumper they had to
fabricate to conform canadian crash test requirements . If you take it off ,
the insurance would be void !

It is a Ford GT. No 40. just for clarification. They just auctioned one at the Berret/ Jackson in florida for over 500k. It was Carol Shelby and ford press car.

The old 5 mph crash proof bumper.
That's a very practical idea for those who want to take their GT to the Walmart parking lot. :D

I've never been in one but I knew some of the guys that made them fast. Max Kelly is sitting on the fender on the way to the winners circle in 1969.

Word is that they're not making any more Ford GT's. Their production has stopped or will very soon. Availability is reportedly now limited to those still sitting in showrooms so the price will be way more than sticker (don't know how many if any of these cars were sold at sticker). Remains to be seen what Ford will make (if anything) as a follow-up to this one.
