After a week and a half of searching, including a complete fly-over of all 7 Marinas and miles and miles of shoreline, interviews with experienced, regular Lake Mead boaters, 1st place goes to the beaches and coves along the north side of the Overton arm between Echo and Ann Margaret (Overton).
The criteria required sandy beaches, good drop offs close to shore, no mud, friendly people, warm water and cold beer. Everything else was second place (aka - first looser).
The winds this week were up and down, calm AM's breezy PM's and vice versa. Launch ramps were varied, good/bad depending on what you expected. Parking was easy, expecially if you are a mountain goat or marathon hiker. Gas prices jumped from $2.689 last week-end to $2.919 this AM. It was worth every penny...

Well I know all the beaches on the dam side before the narrows and to the dam side of the lake after the narrows is muddy.
Sinking up to your knees in mud, quicksand, icky mud.
And sometimes just for fun, little rocks that cut your feet in the mud. You don't know this untill you drop someone off to check it out and they sink up to their knees in this stuff. (not fun)
I really liked Hallet Beach:D
And we are camping at Overton in two weeks!
:D  :D

The good news about camping near Overton is that they have the cheapest gas on the lake...
