Hi Deb,
Thank you so much for your kind words. And thank you for your letters to the County Supervisor.
Yes, let Hot Boat friends do their thing, blow the supervisors out of their chairs, and we would love to hear from all. We are not going down without a fight.
Thank you again,
The Porter Family

Ok, I wrote back to the Zook guy, do you want me to get people on ***boat.com to e-mail him again?
I am so sorry about this. My prayers are with you and your family. Do you want your e-mail published on ***boats so you can hear from some people that have stayed at Moabi. Many of them remember your daughters accident.
Take Care!
Deb
Dear Mrs. Flanagan,
Thank you for your concern for the Parker family and your interest in the operation of the park. Although I do not personally know the Parker family, it is evident by the emails in support of their family that they were very appreciated.
The Department of Regional Parks was required by County policy to solicit other proposals and select the highest scoring proposer. This was required because of the expiration of the previous contract. Additionally, it would be inappropriate for the Board of Supervisors to try to influence or dictate the outcome of the selection process. In addition to those facts, the selection process has already been completed.
Thank you again for your concern.
Sincerely,
David Zook

Dear Mr. Zook,
My concern with Park Moabi is that that Parker Family has been a part of that park for such a long time, and really, made it what it is today. To remove them from their dream, is cruel and just not smart. Park Moabi would not be the success it is today, if they were not manageing the marina. They have seen that park through many of their own personal tragedies. Park Moabi is a part of their family. They are like family to us when we go there. I can't understand the reason why you would want to "fix" what is not broken.
Sincerely,
Deb Flanagan

Hello,
NO, we did not get the contract. Two men from Arizona did. However, the Board of Supervisors, have not signed or given the ok until June 15th. Miracles can happen. We are in the process of selling everything we own and getting ready to move. We will have to look for jobs and start out once again.
We want to thank you all for all your thoughts and support. We will update our Webpage and let you all know what happens.
Again thank you, The Porter Family

Dear Mrs. Flanagan,
Thank you for taking the time to contact our office regarding your concerns with the Moabi Regional Park concession contract. In response to your request, I would like to provide the following information regarding the contract.
On June 30, 2004 the Moabi Regional Park Marina concession contract will expire. Pursuant to County Policy No. 08-03-02, Regional Parks was required to utilize a request for proposals or solicitation of proposals process to seek proposals from individuals or entities, including the current concessionaires, which might be interested in operating the marina.
On February 14, 2004 through February 23, 2004 Regional Parks advertised the concession opportunity in numerous newspapers. On March 1, 2004 a mandatory meeting was held for all those interested in operating the marina.
Regional Parks received five proposals. Each proposal received was submitted by an eligible individual including the current concessionaire. Each proposal was then evaluated based on the criteria listed in the Solicitation of Proposal.
On April 21, 2004, each proposer was asked to present their proposal to a panel of five. Upon the final interview the panel individually scored each proposal based on a predetermined set of weighted questions. The scores were then tallied and the panel discussed the results. The proposer with the highest score was selected. Park Moabi River Marina Inc. was the applicant selected for this contract.
Please feel free to contact us again should you have any other matter with which I may be of assistance.
Sincerely,
David Zook
