Ok, so I stole the idea from the "what is your favorite vodka' thread..but what is your fav tequila? I'm always looking for new ones..
If I'm doing shots it's either Tres Generations or Patron, out of the freezer of course...
I also really like Cazadores, especially since I can get it at Costco!!
Nice tequila website here!

Funny you should bring this up, as I fancy myself a Tequila Afficianado of sorts...
I too like Cazadores Reposado, and have a new fav for Margs that looks just like it, tastes like it but is a lot cheaper called Cabrito, and has a little goat on the front instead of the deer on the Cazadores label.
My favorite of all time is one you absolutely cannot find. It was purchased in the town of Tequila in Jalisco, Mex. two years ago, from a little old tequila maker who lacked a "patron" to make any more than he did.
It is called "Quattro Reyes" or "Four Kings" in English, and has no equal that I have tasted. Smooth, sippin Tequila. I would punch anyone in the throat that did a shot of it in front of me, as I have about 6 oz left, and they must be savored in the way a fine Tequila should.
Shots are for Cuervo. ;)

I'd like to try relax with a glass of Porfino Barrique(sp), but I hear it's not made anymore and cost quite a bit... Neighborhood of a grand or so..
I like tequila :)

South of the border only so far. I have been making the journey with freinds to bring home a liter each for Margs. About $20/liter. Quite a bit less than Cazadores, and nearly as good.
Neither are "sippin" Tequilas though. Tres Generationes is pretty good too. Sippable.

The best to-kill-ya I ever had was when I was still in high school in Rocky Point. Some guys got stuck below the tide line and the water was coming in fast. Some of the locals wanted a couple hundy to pull them out and they weren't going for it. I was in my '73 K5 Blazer and we pulled them out and got them on solid ground. They were returning from a road trip that had them somewhere around Panama and had a bottle of tequila that the brought back with them. They gave it to us for pulling them out.
To this day I don't know what it was. It was in a clear bottle, no markings, no tax stamp, and sipping it tasted like sugar water. What I do know is about 30 seconds after a pull on this bottle ya may as well have been kicked in the ass by a horse as it would mess you up.
Best tequila I ever had and I don't know what it was. I figure it was some guy who had his own little operation and bottled it for the locals.

I think that was "Miserbleass" tequila. That's why you liked it so much.

There are too many to list.
One I don't recommend is Quintapenna, or as we like to say, Quita Penis.
I gave that brand to ahhell as a Christmas gift a few years back, nice bottle, but tasted like Grappa (yuck)
I usually try to drink Cazadores, that is good and smooth. I like Tres Generationes, Patron (all flavors) and one other brand that I got as a goodie bag gift at a golf tournament a couple of years ago. I cannot remember the name, but it starts with an S, maybe Saguaro or something like that, that is just as good as Patron. I'll try to figure that out.
My employees (99 % Mexican) like El Jimador, and they are right here, it's a great Tequila, also they taught me that there are some equally good "non-tequilas" made outside the Jalisco area.
My favorite Tequila bar is Rockin Taco in Fullerton, that place is cool

I've only got 3 kinds of tequila here at the house, I need to go get more. I don't like drinking the same thing over and over, so it's off to Costco, where we get the best deals...

My favorite, it comes in a long blue bottle and its called (corralleo). If you like something smooth and cost efficiant try this one right out of the freezer, try your local liq. barn.

Cazadores is a good quality Tequilla that mixes well for Margaritas. But my favorites are Patron Silver and Tres Generato

Reserva de la Familia - great sipping tequila. Patron Anejo. Don Julio Anejo. Casadores. Herradura Seleccion Suprema - the best I've personally taste but at $300/bottle it's outta' sight for most liquor cabinets. Another tequila of particular note...Doña Carlota Reposado - rare and very, very good. Silver tequila - I leave these for margaritas. I'm told that the Don Julio 1942 is one of the very best but haven't yet indulged yet.
