View Full Version : Your cut off

Ever notice every where you go these days your alcohol is cut off.
I was walking into the liquor store the other day to get my beer,
when I saw a sign on the door that said.
California law say we can not sell alcohol to anyone who shows
signs or smells of alcohol, or shows any sign of being intoxicated.
Who do they think goes to liquor stores? It's usually a bunch of
drunks looking for booze.
Then I went to a rock concert the other day. When I got there the
beer line was a freekin mile long, so I said to myself, I'll just wait
until the concert starts and everyone sits down then I'll go get my
beer. So the show starts I get up to get a beer and come to find
out all the beer stands were close. So I asked what the hell
gives. They only serve beer before the show. After that they sell
no more alcohol for the rest off the night.
What kind of crap is that? I will never go there again. The only
thing they had the rest of the night was water.
What made me think of this was Boozer's story about taking his
date out to dinner, and getting their drinks cut off because the
restaurant had a 3 drink maximum.
WTF are things comming to. A few drunks ruin it for everyone else?
Shit! you can't even go out and have a good time anymore.:(

I think they are all trying to keep people from driving while drinking and don't want a law suit against them since they were the last one to sell beer to you. I think it makes them liable.. but don't quote me on that.;)

That's it I'm sure.
I'm going to start smoking pot again. Medical marihuana stores are popping up all over the place around here.
Anyone no where to get a four finger bag of green bud?

that's because there always has to be someone at fault and it couldn't possibly be the person that did the deed...
Search for blame is the reason there are so damn many attorneys in this country.

If you can't have a good time without drinking, it's time for an intervention.
I'm not against drinking but when someone can't have a good time without it, they've got a problem.

At nine in the morning that gives you a little buzz. I could do
without the bread though. It doesn't taste good.

Yea, that stuff always seemed a bit "flat". :)
You'll probably hate the beer rules at the ballgame. I miss the good old days of beer vendors walking the stands until the game was over. :(

Even though I'm cut off. Those were the days. Tell your kids the
stories when we were young, they won't believe it.
"What you mean mean they use to bring the beer right to you?
as much as you can drink?"
Yes son.
No way dude. Thats knarley.

What venue were you at with regards to the rock concert? I want to know so that I never make the mistake of going to a show there. If I'm driving, there's no reason everyone else in our group can't drink during the four hours we are there.

I think someone oughta start a legal organization with the sole purpose of fighting MADD. This shit is getting outta hand nowdays and yes that is the #1 group you have to thank for it.

The concert was at the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento CA.
Tesla was the band. I have to figure it's a city ordinance or
something. I will never go back.

Here you go RD Modern Drunkard Magazine (http://www.moderndrunkardmagazine.com/)
They are anti-MADD, and I agree with them/you. There are a lot of brainwashed people out there. Just because some folks have an 18 pack and get belligerent at ball games/concerts doesn't mean we should all suffer.
I enjoy beer as much as anyone, and being treated like a baby at public venues just makes me (and my money) stay away.
That's why I enjoy stuff like the Highland Games at Costa Mesa fairgrounds. They are more likely to send you home if you won't have a beer or two....
Thanks

A quote from that site:
MDM: What’s MADD so mad about?
OTS: Well, if I was given a $50,000,000 annual budget to be mad with, I’d be mad all the time too. Wouldn’t you?
MDM: The way it looks to me, I don’t think MADD will stop until they attain total and complete prohibition.
OTS: MADD is an animal, a machine that has went past the point of no return. It’s a monster that has to keep eating. If it doesn’t it’ll die. Candy Lightner (the deposed founder of MADD) said it best. She said MADD is a neoprohibitionist movement that has lost its focus. That should be put on every billboard in the country.

Move to wisconsin, you can get alky 365 days a year here, they shut off the beer at a show when it starts and you would have a riot here.

Here's how it works these days. If you are a bartender and serve a VIP(very intoxicated person), there is almost no limit to what they can do to hold you liable once this person leaves your establishment. Even if this dirtbag drinks at yours and twelve other establishments, lawyers and LE officers will attempt to "re-enact" the person's steps if he screws up. It gets worse if the person gets in a fight at your bar or another bar. In the worst case scenario, he gets in a fight at your bar. You make him leave and later at another bar he finds that person again and somebody gets really hurt. They now have legal grounds to sue both bars because the "altercation" wasn't properly "resolved". It's not just the last place the person went anymore, hence the liquor stores and bars being tight about who they serve. Yes, it's BS, but up here in Oregon they have very good undercover OLCC officers. Many of them are college age hottie chicks so you never know.
