It doesn't seem that anybody thinks much of the Sillywilly thread about the bachalor party last weekend. Staying in Havasu, older guys. There is quite a bit of info on this thread that pertains to the young kids getting beat up at the sandbar last week. There is info of where they stayed that can be investigated. Can anybody vouch for these posters or should they be looked at closer.

I went back and read the thread..
They were on a 30+ Scarab named "golden shower." That's not to say there probably wasn't other boats..
In my opinion though, a bachelor party usually everyone stays at the same spot. These guys rented a big ass house in Havasu. Why would part of the crew stay in a hotel all the way up in Mojave at Katherines Landing? Makes no sense..
I personally do not believe that it was them.. At any given time there's always several bachelor & bachelorette parties going on out at the river.

The 2 things that keep bringing me back is the older guy thing and that there were more than 1 boat. Also, it was never confirmed which direction they went. They could have been staying in Havasu. Was the guy that posted about the bachalor party a regular poster that anybody reconized?

It really doesn't make sense, because there's no hotel at Katherine's Landing. ;) I know you're still learning the area "above Havasu", so I'm just trying to help. They were probably staying at one of the casinos, if they told one of the girls they were staying "in Laughlin".

It was confirmed that the boat left the sandbar heading North after the incident int he early evening.. And was also seen up river by one of the members after the incident.

LOL! Slips = Marina ;) And remember there's a large dam between Lake Mahave and the river leading to the sandbar. They would almost have to have launched at Needles, unless they really know the river between Needles and Laughlin.
They could have launched at Moabi or Topok, but why pass two prefectly good ramps to go there from Laughlin?

Jason...there is a hotel at Katherines but I agree that Laughlin would be more like it

Well, they did raise hell at the sand bar. There was so much going on that you have to believe any fact stated (we have already seen it on the boat description) can be suspect. Any similarities at all should be investigated. It is hard to believe that there aren't more descriptions of the other people involved besides the big guy.

WOW, Really? I've been going there all these years, and never knew that!!! It's not in the area around the ramp is it? I'm going to check it out next time I'm out there, wanna come with RD? :D

I think "hotel" might be like calling hamburger helper a porterhouse steak, but they do have rooms there (more like motel). I've actually stayed there so I know this to be true. They are right up from the ramp a ways on the south side of the road.
That is unless they've added a hotel of some kind in the past 4-5 years since I've been there.

You got it right....a place to sleep :). Never stayed there myself.
