Steven Kent Patchett
Steven Kent Patchett, 48, of Simi Valley passed away June 16, 2004, as the result of a tragic boating accident on Lake Havasu. Steven was a sales manager.
Steven's son, Tyler Patchett, passed away as the result of the same boating accident.
Steven is survived by his parents, Robert and Marjorie Patchett; son, Stephan Patchett; daughter, Kalen Patchett; brother, Robert Patchett; and sisters, Judith John, Susanne Jacobson and Janice Conrad.
Visitation for Steven will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks, Chapel of the Oaks, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village. A celebration of Steven's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1, at Sonrise Christian Fellowship, 2350 Shasta Way, Simi Valley. Interment to immediately follow at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Memorial Park.

Tyler Denton Patchett
Tyler Denton Patchett, 10, of Moorpark passed away June 16, 2004, as the result of a tragic boating accident on Lake Havasu.
Tyler was a fourth-grade student at Walnut Canyon Elementary School in Moorpark. He participated in Little League, Boys & Girls Club, and the Awanas Bible Club.
Tyler's father, Steven Patchett, passed away as the result of the same boating accident.
Tyler is survived by his mother, Sheila Patchett; brother, Stephan Patchett; sister, Kalen Patchett; and grandparents, Robert and Marjorie Patchett.

Too sad. It hits a little close to home, because I love to boat with my 10 year old son.

Its so hard to hear and read about stuff like this.I couldnt even come close to imagine what the families are going through.:frown:

That was tough to read. All the more reason for everyone here to pay attention when you (and I) are out on the water. We all need to learn from these tragic events and make sure it doesn't happen to us or our families.:(

That is so sad, I really feel for the family - I wish them the best. What a way to start the summer:(

What a way to end a marriage. Imagine the "if only's" that must be going throught the remainer of the families minds. :frown:

Sobering stuff folks, it is so easy to get caught up in the excitement and in a blink it spirals out of any control. Heart wrenching for this family, as I understand it there are now only 2 surviving members of the family.:(

Very sad to hear. Accidents happen but when they involve the young its so much harder to deal with...
