This is a shock. I've known Max for more years than I can remember. He used to run the boat shop at Sand Point/Cattail Cove.

That is horrible news! Our prayers for the family.
I always think of things like this when I drive that road....especially at night....and even more so with my family in the car. I have seen soo many fatalities between the 10fwy and Havasu over my years of travel. Very sad! Everyone keep your eyes open and don't drive tired! The lake will still be there tomorrow.

News article:
Crash On 95 Kills Havasu Man
LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ - A single vehicle traffic accident Tuesday killed a Lake Havasu City man. The Department of Public Safety said Robert McConnel, 50, was dead at the scene of the wreck on State Route 95 at 6:06pm.
DPS said McConnel lost control of his northbound station wagon about nine miles south of Lake Havasu. The vehicle reportedly left the highway before crossing over all four lanes and plowing through a guardrail.
DPS said McConnel was ejected as the car became airborne while descending a steep grade. Police added that McConnel would likely have survived the accident had he been using his seatbelt.
