View Full Version : What Have You Learned As You've Gotten Older?

As I've gotten older...
I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in.
I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people are just assholes.
I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes
suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.
I've learned that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you'd better have a great pair of boobs.
I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screwed up than you think.
I've learned that you can keep vomiting long after you think you're finished.
I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, unless we are celebrities.
I've learned that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades, and there had better be a lot of money to take its place!
I've learned that 99% of the time when something isn't working in your house, one of your kids did it.
I've learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go away.

To be thankful for what you have - even if it's not what you want at the time. It may be what you need for later!
AND
It could be a lot worse!

To think before I speak or act.
To treat others as I would like to be treated.
To try and treat everybody with respect, even those lowly GM owners.
To not blame others for my problems, except for those lowly GM owners.
To never own a GM truck. The cars are ok,just not the trucks.
and realize that everyone has an opinion and it is ok to disagree, without being enemies, except for the lowly GM owners.

To have fun and not sweat the small stuff. It ain't that bad being in your 40's :) Especially when you have all your hair :) You also have much more disposable income and can actually afford your toys...lol

Not all discipline is bad.
Belts are not always used to hold up pants.
Handcuffs don't always mean you're in trouble.
....and three's not always a crowd.

I just learned that if you stick up for the lady behind the counter at Jack in the Box, you can get free food. Two punk kids told her to lick their tiny balls. I got in the kids face that said it and they left. She gave me free fish and chips. See being nice 10% of the time really does pay off!:D

I have learned:
Work to live not live to work.
Do unto others as you would do to them.
Don't drink on an empty stomach. Bile burns!
Even if he's not right let him think it.
The way to a man's heart is through his stomach.
Be thankful for all that you have because you could miss it.
Treat everyday as your last day.
Smiling is contagious.:D :D
Kharma sucks!
Be nice to your parents... they brought you into this world and can take you out too!
Theres more but I can't think right now..... I am listening to an old school mix cd and can't stop dancing......
Oh ya: Dance like no one watching!

I said it before, and I will say it again:
Never stop being a student.
Search for heros, and mentors. Befriend those who you admire and strive to begin where they left off.
