i have a 50 hp johnson and it has problems, it sparks on both cylinders compression is good carbs are clean plugs are new and it still will only run on one cylinder what gives? Please help i need it fast thanks

Snapper: I don't know what year motor you have but here goes (does it do it all the time or just low speed or hi speed)
1) low speed needle adjustment
2) stuck needle and seat
3) is it synchronized
4) do the throttle valves open and close at the same time?
5) weak fuel pump
6) faulty spark plug
check the coils under the flywheel to see if the insulation is cracked and falling off.
I had the same problem with a 1961 Evenrude Lark, had spark but not enough to fire under pressure.

well it has no problems now, i blew it up today
not only did i blow the 50 powerhead, today my 2 115 johnsons blew, bad oil or gas is my guess, any input?
take up golf?
