Just found an update for Dale I. sounds like his surgery went well. This is a little blurb that is on the home page of www.dragboats.com.
"Fuel driver Dale Ishimaru underwent surgery to repair damage to his lower back and ankle in Redding California on 5/29. After 7 hours of surgery, Dale emerged on a real positive note. Doctors were able to repair the damage and the prognosis is that he will make a full recovery. He will be staying in the hospital for several days, but should be heading down the road to recovery in the coming days.We will keep you posted on Dale's condition as we receive it.
Dale (pictured above) is an ambassador for drag boat racing, pictured here signing autographs for a young fan at the 2005 Nitro Nationals. A powerful alliance with World Championship Driver and Team owner "Fast" Eddie Knox (pictured right) vaulted the Problem Child team to the Top Fuel Hydro championship in 2006! Get well soon Dale - can't wait to see you back at the races."

Looking at the pictures, it's amazing that the other boat in the picture didn't get hit. The other boat is the Toxic Rocket. Kevin from R&R Prop Shop does the props and setup on this boat. Said the driver never saw the other boat go over him, but did see a shadow. Apparently the air pressure moved their boat over and they hit the lights at the other end, getting them a DQ.

Kevin Taylor does do props BUT has nothing to do with the boat setup,
AND yes the boat was hit by and seriously damaged by debris from the crash

I posted these of the crash in the Sandbar but for those of you who don't get over there
My wife is interested in what camera and lens you were using

Hmmm...he has told me about helping with moving the outriggers and other driveline components. Also talked about some of the design work of the new boat. Are you on the team?
Now that you mention it, he did talk about the damage too...cracked the canopy? WOW!
