Hey gang! I visit this site quite often just to see what's going on being that I own a boat from the West Coast. There is not near the action here that takes place over at OSO but I'm betting you guys will change that.

Hey Wavejumppin, Indy from OSO here. Yea this place does not get nearly the volume that OSO does but the OSO board has become more of a chat room rather than a boat forum. Maybe it'll turn around for the better. It seems to go in circles. OSO is more relevant for my type of boating (salt water) rather than the lake type stuff that is talked about here. However I do own one of the only west coast boats in the Northeast. What type of west coast boat do you have and where do you boat?
Hey wavejumppin, I'll be hanging out over here from now on. I don't like the way OSO was heading. With the quality of guys like Too Old and the others I'm sure this board will take off.

I never spent anytime here in the past. Just looking for a pleasurable place to discuss boats.
I admit a strong bias for "offshore type" boats, but do most of my boating on bigger lakes.
Nice to see some familiar names. I have a sport boat, but love to discuss offshore types.
My next boat is going to be a Baja 212 Islander with the 496!!! Just waiting for the right time to pull the trigger!!
Also waiting for Merc 575 to come to GA and give me a ride on his bad boat!!!!!
Hey Too Old, will you be bringing that Sonic beauty to the Atlantic anytime this summer to give that nice hull a work-out? Nothing like bustin through some of that chop to put a smile on your face!! What power do you have in the boat now?

Kirk, I know you didn't mean to type it, but I LMAO at the "With the quality of guys and gays like Too Old" So, you saying Fred is gay? LOL! Funny typo.
Yup, I'm miffed I'll lost my 1000 post seniority I had on OSO, but I like the format of this board, and while it's not as busy, it's picking up with OSO heading down the "I'm the moderator and I don't gve a rip" path.

All I can say to the OSO guys is:
I'm ahead of Waterfoul in posts!!!!
Nah nah, nah nah nah
LOL!
refreshing talk about boats. It's snowing here, but I can't wait till tomorrow night to have dinner with some friends that went to the Miami show. Looking forward to hearing about it first hand since we missed it!!
Maybe some of you that still post on OSO will invite some of them to join us. I think we will have a lot of fun here.
I've been called a lot of things over the past few days. One more won't hurt http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif

Yea...no kidding!! 32 Fever - are you anywhere near Watervliet? I bought my boat from J&M Marine...what a mess.
Hi guys, I think I'm going to be checking this site out more often also.
Too Old, I remember you mentioning sometime ago that you come up to Winnebago, are you going to be coming up for the Oshkosh thunder run in June?
I hope you guys still visit OSO as well. Some of the best people from the board are represented in this thread!

Oh my....yep. Long long long story. But Marc is a fine piece of work. You're not the only one. You could finish off about 40 cases of beer before I was done. LOL!
I take my Fountain there (to that building) to the new Nielson's. Bill Nielson owns it. He's a stand up guy, but no offshore lines. He's a great mechanic though, and really helps me out and loves to work on the go fast boats. In fact he works on a 35 nordic that Marc "sold". http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif
Marc, though. Wow. Those Nordics are nice boats, though, just too bad what happened to those that bought them through J&M.

32 Fever that was definately a typo, that I didn't pick up on. I've since edited the post. Too Old is a class guy, who shows it by responding with a joke. I ment no disrespect to you Too Old, and I'm sure you understang that.
How did you post a quote I don't see were you can do that.

Read it a second time and laughed some more!

Well I think I too have posted my last on OSO, I was a big lurker over there but when I started seeing all of the crap and then nothing was done by the Moderators well that sold me on getting out. This seems like a nice bunch of folks and I notice I have seen lots of you before http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif I hope to have fun and to get the help that a so many of you give to others. Thanks All
Yeah....can boater's really qualify as "normal" people? LOL http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
I guess that could be a whole other thread... hahaha

You need to give OSO a chance on the Moderator issue. The huge demand for more oversite just began within the last week. It takes some time for it to really soak in and I think it has now. They have already accepted the fact that moderators are needed and they are actively starting the implementation. No message board will ever have my exclusive participation, I am free and comfortable to participate on all. It's only a matter of time before simular issues start to happen here. It's the nature of the beast, internet message boards.

s'up fellers!

Gary, I agree. When I left this morning I didn't think it would be a big deal,OSO contacted me about why I left, and I explained my reasons, lurked back over a few times to check on things and couldn't believe the venom being spouted, felt I was glad to be out of there. But I do realize that a few jerks don't speak for the whole board, but I would just hang out awhile here. Everyone here seems friendly,I'm comfortable,we will see what happens. I'm just a boat guy, ready for spring.
wise words Gary.

Yeah, I just wanted to point it out. It was a funny unintentional typo, knew Too Old would laugh about it.
The reply quote is one of the icons at the top of the message box. Look at your username in bold and follow it straight right.
Yea Cig1 I know what you are saying I saw the posts over there but I think it may be too little and way to late to save the sinking ship. I may still go lurk once in a while but I feel no need to post over there, all you get is slaped in the face http://free.***boat.net/ubb/frown.gif So why even waste the time? Sad to see it go that way but hey that seems to be the way it is gonna be.
its a shame isn't it....that board was running just fine even a few months back, but then there seemed to be an invasion of http://free.***boat.net/ubb/mad.gif and it went down from there. its nice to see some familiar names from the "old board"\
no worries http://free.***boat.net/ubb/wink.gif...be happy http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Yeah, Magic, I wasn't real happy about that either. I put my comments there, which led to other things, but ya know, it's just ludicrous.
But hey, don't want to be whining about another board on this one. Rather just start some wholesome boat discussion!!!!
Mark
Magic,
Saw your post that you left on OSO this morning, I didn't read any of it until I saw your post over here. So I went back and read some of the stuff that was posted. I can't beleive that people have nothing better to do than post that kind of trash
Hey Indy, Sorry I had to log out for awhile. Anyway, I have a '24 HTM. I'm from Oklahoma so I do have quite a few lakes to choose from. Grand Lake is definately the best partying lake but I live right on Keystone Lake so that's where I do most of my boating.
I made it over here !
Looking forward to some civilized discussions
Jeff
Wellcome Jeff! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

oh ya, what is that saying used in business.........
never give that customer a chance to look elsewhere because he may end up finding out something he likes http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
I still like OSO, I just hope it cleans up.
Welcome, Jeff
