try to make it ... prayers to the family ( RIP CARLOS)
Carlos was my good friend. I spoke to him this am before this happened, he was giving me shit about the cheap headsets I gave him.... I still can't believe this. He was a fellow boater and good friend. I know few if any others that would do for me what Carlos has done for me and my family. I feel privileged to have him as a friend.
Carlos was a good man and a TRUE gentleman. Most of you will never come close to being the stand up guy he was. If you broke or needed help, Carlos was there. He went out of his way MANY many times to help me out of a jamb.
I'm at a loss for words here.
He will be missed dearly by his friends and family.
iv kick it with this hommie a few times, he is a really good dude with a big heart and a friend of a bunch of my buddys..if the timing is wrong to talk about it sorry!!

He will be greatly missed.
I cant beleve its true!
I also will need a ride for this one.
:(
I dont know where to start, I may not have known Carlos as good as some of our ***boat peeps but the Mrs. and I thought of him as our friend. I actually came on line hoping that there was not a post regarding our loss (***boat community, family and friends) but since it was in good taste I thought I would post.
Los will be missed by many, and the Mrs. and I give our deepest and most sincere regards to his wife and kids. We are in shock and can only offer our best wishes to them.
I'm sure it will be said many times over but Carlos was a great friend and would have done anything and always offered more help than what was needed. We will do the same for his family.

Finn, thanks for calling and giving me a heads up about this. I have highlighted part of what you said as I couldn't have said it better myself.
I had my arms around him on Saturday and like you am at a loss for words.
Carlos will always be remembered as someone who would go out of his way to help you or be the first one to get behind a boating event. At Shasta this year he talked about how he just wanted everyone to have fun boating and he certainly was a catalyst for that.
Carlos was someone we all hope to be associated with during our life. Someone who had a huge heart and wasn't afraid to show it, a person who really did care when he said he did and wasn't just blowing smoke up your ass, a true hot boat guy who I will always remember as ONE OF THE BEST.
I will contact the family tomorrow before moving ahead with any thing until I get their input. Damnnnnnnnnnnnn I miss him.

I am at a loss for the right words, and you summed it up very well Troy. Carlos was going to be dropping a part off at my house tonight to help me out of a jam at the shop. Carlos you be missed by many! RIP good friend. My heart goes out to his wife and children.:D
We all miss you so much already Los! Don't anyone forget, THIS is the man who kept this sport real for us all!!!

that 30' is in Vegas now--maybe we can bring it up for this gathering, for old times sake :(
Bon Voyage Carlos!
To a place where there is only race gas, excessive boost, and outdrives that never blow up.
We will celebrate your life instead of mourning your passing.
My condolences to Sondra, little Carlos and Tatianna.
Chris
Son, Husband, Father, Friend to many, Friend of mine............I will never forget what a true and loyal friend you have been to me and so many others. The ***boat world will not be the same without you........ boating will not be the same. May God Bless your family and help them through these terrible times.
Wow, this is a shock. I only met Carlos a few times, and he always went out of his way to bs w/ Lisa and I, and make us feel comfortable, and he didn't know us from Adam. I remember hearing about the party under the bow while he was making speed runs @ last years B2B. What a great man, and he'll be missed!!! If there is anything we can do to help this even Terry, let me know...

A kind/good person to my family, who always made my kids laugh with his jokes. Our hearts go out to Sondra and the kids, such a great loss for them and all of us in the Hot Boat community. R.I.P. Los.
I dont think I can add much to what has already been said. We saw Carlos on Sunday night at Orwood. He had been prop testing. He had a few of his buddies there. My family was pretty much in the car but he made a point to go say hello to my wife and kids. That is just how he was. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. RIP CARLOS.
Just saw this thread. What happened to Carlos!

It's a sad day for our boating community. :( I didn't know Carlos all that well but he still went out of his way and took the time to tow me in twice when I broke at B2B. He will be missed by many. RIP Carlos.
Didn't personally know Carlos, but our hearts go out to his family and friends :(....stay strong! Sounds like he was an upstanding individual and a kind of friend that everyone needs to have.
WOW...... What a shocker! WHAT the heck happened? My heart hurts for his family:(
A friend of mine will greatly be missed by all. My condolences go to family and friends.

family.
So sad.:( Was this a boating accident? I met him at this years Desert Storm. Let me tell you, looks can be decieving!:D He was one of the nicest guys and truly crazy about boats. We talked in length about his new Nortech and some of his older boats. RIP

WOW.... very sad.
I agree, there is not much that can be added to the very kind words that have already been expressed by others. I too had the great priveledge of being introduced to him at the Discovery Bay Boat show this year. My father and I got to hang out with him, and we went to dinner and he was the funniest guy I had ever met. But he was a real nice guy to, despite the hard shell. He truly will be missed.
John
Wow, such a sad turn of events. I certainly feel for his family. I hope they know we wre here for them in their time of need. I have no idea if they even know we exist, but if you are reading any of this, please don't hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can do for you in your time of need!!!

Hey guys, I think the lunch run memorial is a great and heartfelt thought and will be a good thing for everyone. But howbout this week, lets stick with posting our thoughts prayers and all of the great experiences/times (post pics if ya got um)we've all shared with Los. Kinda let everyone digest what has happened here and share in the personal loss with friends and family. My .02

I think that is a great idea. I will start another thread all together about a lunch run so that we can get a head count togther and make some arrangments as needed. I think this thread should remain just the way it is, a place for memories to be shared.
I for one can never forget the look on my 9 year old daughters face when my boat broke at last years Cat Attack and Carlos asked her if she would like to ride with him and his family on the big boat, she smiled all night long in anticipiation of the ride in the race boat as she called it.
Carlos I will never forget your since of humor or your huge heart...a true Gentle Giant. Many men will try all of their lives and never be half the man you were.
Some of my best memories at the poker runs and events that I've done are when Carlos and crew would show up. You would think it was the President of the United States showing up the way people would snap pictures of him, his rigs and boats... he definitely knew how to make an entrance. And then for him to come over and not only acknowledge my wife and I but sit down and carry on a conversation with us and ask us how we've been in a way made us feel special. He was a very genuine guy and always a gentleman to my wife and I and will be greatly missed.
They had a suite next to ours at the Desert Storm Poker run this past year. Very nice people. Always said hello and were joking with us. Sorry to see this happen. RIP.
Our thoughts & prayers also.We just met him at the last HB photo shoot.Great guy.Again, our condolences.Casey & Christina.
God bless Carlos and his family..... lost is a true hard-core boater...:(
The Best Family sends it's condolences. We are truly sorry for your loss.
I don't have too many stories about Carlos as I was just getting to know him. Most wouild agree that he was never dull and always smiling.
I do have one story that until today did not realy register propery. It was Saturday morning at Cat Attack. Donna and I were driving down to the store to pick up some ice. Carlos was pitting on the props on his new Nor-Tech, one of the coolest boats I haver ever been around. He stopped and started to walk over to us to say hello. The prop slid off and hit the ground. We felt so bad and were concered if it had done any damage. Carlos, on the other had was more concerned as to how were were. There is something to be leaned from a guy like that.
We later laughed about it in the bar that night. Carlos, his brother, DCBob, Pierre, myself and few of the usualy suspects had a few froster beverages that night. It was a good time. It was the last time I spoke to Carlos.
