Sorry for the delay, but here are some pictures of my Mako. I can't wait to get rid of that Nitrous bullshit and put the blower and injector hat with some alcohol in it. :D

You might think about 0 ringing that blower intake. Sure makes it nice.

Yep, the old Tuff Toy PGF. Ron drove out to Riverside, CA and picked it up bare, brand new from Ermshar in '85. It has some of the hardware in it from the Cole he crashed in Houston the year before. Ron did the paint job, and it still looks great! She's had many 7.80 passes under her belt, so I think it's a keeper. This makes the 2nd boat of Ron's that I've had.

We were discussing a trip to the Finals with it this past weekend. See you in November!

That's all we've been running for the past couple of years. It's cheap, easy horsepower, but you can't beat a blower grunt or the smell of alcohol in my book. Ultimate goal is 8.0's with the blown alcohol piece, but I'm gonna run it in the 9's to start the year with the ol' Nitrous dogturd. :D

Sweet Deal Adam!!:d
Thanks, Caleb! How have you been? I ran into your brother at Hooter's after the finals Sunday in Phoenix...I told him to tell you hey for me.

That thing looks killer Adam!

Thanks, Paul! It looks better up close and personal, I assure you. Hopefully you'll get to see it at Firebird in November. :D
-
Looks Good Adam. Nice to see that boat again! Hopfully I will see it in person sometime this summer. :D
-
Nice ride, looks real clean. Did it run 7.80s with that motor?
-
Only thing that boat needs is me in it!! Congrats, that's a beaut!

No, I think it was a Pontiac when Ron was running PGF. That's just a little 477 Chevy with iron heads, although it has ran 8.30's in my buddy's Cole hydro. It'll make a nice 9 second bracket piece until the blown alcohol motor is done.
-
I've always liked that boat. It looks real nice Adam. It will really look great when you redo the anodizing. Look forward to seeing it in person.

Thanks, Randy. Hopefully you can make it up to a St. Louis race this next year. It would be nice to see more flatbottoms in this part of the country!

Nice boat!
I have a hardware question. I'm assuming that the air cylinder in the above photo is an in and out control. I have a set up very similar to that complete with a mini-air bottle(there's still pressure in the bottle!), regulator, lines and air switch. It came from a relative's garage who was recently injured in a boating accident. I've been unloading his goodies to help out his fam with the costs(he's done with hot boating, at least for the foreseeable future).
What's a set up like that worth?
Thanks in advance.
Sorry for the thread jack!!!

Sweet lookin Mako ya got there Adam. I'll check it out next summer at one of the SLDBA races. Congrats it's a beauty! :D Tony

No need to apologize. I'd say a brand new complete air shift kit is about $350-$400, but I've never bought one (they've always been on my boats) so someone else might have a better idea.

Hey Tony, thanks a lot! You going to bring your hydro down? If you make it down to one, I'd highly recommend the Litchfield race...we had a great time there last year.
-
Yeah most likely the Litchfield race with the hydro. I almost came down this year to see Haas race, but next year for sure.

Haha, 7.50 with his "lake boat." I couldn't stop laughing after that. Talk about a guy who loves dragboat racing...hell of a guy! We'll look forward to seeing you. It's our hometown, so we usually go all out and have a huge crowd in our pits. Fun times! :D
-
Very nice boat Adam, congrats best of luck with it!..
-
John is one heck of a nice fella and a diehard drag boat racer for sure. Since he built my hydro motor I'm probably gonna break out of the 8 sec bracket too. :D

Thanks a lot, Art!

Thanks a lot, Art!
You're welcome, looking forward to seeing it with the blower on it!...
-
Very nice looking boat you have! I have heard and seen of a few Mako's, what is the story on them? Are they a splash of Cole's and Hondo's? There is obviously history with this boat, so they do run well? I am just dreaming of a future toy:D
-
Gotta love the paint ,sweet ride
-
:D :D how much for the zoomies !!!
A million dollars. :D
Sorry, gotta save those for the blown-injected alcohol piece that we're going to throw in it. Those Dan Olson zoomies are the best looking zoomies on the market, in my opinion.

That makes a few of us! :)

Basically, all runnerbottoms are a splash of the original Hondo...but they're all different. The Mako boats were built by the Ermshars out of Riverside, CA. Don still runs the "Mako Force" TAF, and I think Andy Dement's "Red Alert" TAF is a Mako. They're a light boat, so lake use is pretty much out of the question...they also have a longer deck than any other runnerbottoms.

Ready is an understatement. I'm chomping at the bit. Looks like we'll have to drive to Texas in April for the SDBA season opener.
