Late word tonight from Hammer Day is that "Chop" of the legendary "Pumps by Chop" fame lost power in his jet boat this afternoon and planted it on an abandoned dock near Morro Bay, Arkansas.
The boat was recovered and Chop was not injured in the incident.
The moral of the story......
If you're gonna try to go fast in a jet boat in Arkansas....be very, very careful!!!!!!!

Tom,
I tried to call this evening and did not receive an answer. The 911 is the boat he took to HD. Gary, thanks for posting the info. If you hear more, let us know.
Thanks,

Sam called me last night and said everything was okay. They floated the boat on inner tubes and got in on the trailer. Nobody was hurt and that they party was still going on!
He said that where it happened, not many people even knew it happened because it was on an old houseboat used as a dock that was all grown up.
He also said that he made a pass in his Cheyenne, but it was too crowded and rough for Sambo to make a pass in his Kurtis hydro.

OK...
Chop and Rufus are alright and minimal damage to the boat. It was the end of Saturday of Hammer Day and everyone was pulling out at the ramp. Chop made one last blast down the river and had slowed down to about 45 mph.
He was going to turn around and head back to the ramp and had pulled to the left side of the river to make a right u-turn and head to the ramp when the boat ran out of gas and died. The boat did a slow drift to the left and bumped a shallow dock. The dock had an eyelet on the side that hung the boat and punched a hole smaller than your fist in the hull. They had to have some help to "get off" the eyelet by putting a tube under the front of the boat. They then put duct take over the hole (above the water line) and ferried back to the ramp. The boat did not sink and no one was physically hurt. However Chop was quite upset that he had damaged his boat.
He says it will have fiberglass flowing before the day is out.
I'm thankful they were not hurt. Have fun out there.... but be careful!!!
