I have a 75 sleekcraft executive that had a 455 olds and a jacuzzi yj pump. That olds has bee a pain in my ass since i got the boat so i removed that and bought a 460. it has harmin marine four point mounts. I have the motor in sitting on blocks with the drive shaft close to straight by eye. is there a specific angle or degree i need to set the motor at? how criticle is it?
You do not want perfect alignment...I seem to recall around one and a half to 3 degrees,
but I am sure someone more expert can give you better figures. this allows
there to be some rotation in the bearings to distribute wear and lubrication.

This is one of those topics that's been beaten to death. Some say straight, some say angle. I would put some angle into it. Do this by trying to get your engine closer to level, Meaning don't just offset the engine at all four corners, just offset the fronts (lower them). This will get your engine closer to level which will help your carbs out a little. If I remember correctly when I did mine I was told 1-2 degree of offset.
