wsm9808, we have a 1992 20 Carrera Eclipse in the shop right now with a genV block w/tunnel ram twin 600's. Haven't tested the boat yet [it's 3 degrees C right now],but will know more about it's performance in the spring.Previous experience told me little benefit over a well setup single carb. However a tunnel setup looks cool in an open boat like this carrera. Will do a side by side run with the 19 spectra [460 BBF singlecarb] and carrera 454 BBC tunell ram twin carb] http://www3.telus.net/spectrasonly/1...19spectra5.jpg

Spectras only , Is that your place on the water ? if so what is your sea wall built out of and your dock looks fixed not floating. I need to do some work on my place and always looking for new ideas . RH
ps "it's fuggly cold here" = what ?

RH ,it's my buddy's summerplace [good to have friends http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif]where we spend a lot of time in the summer. His wife is a teacher and she's up there all summer with the kids, while my buddy commutes there every week from thursday till monday, 250 miles from Vancouver .He removes the dock from the pylons around october, and the lake usually freezes by december or january. The waterbreaker is made up of treated cedar logs and it's been around for at least 8 years now. Fuggly cold = f...n gray and miserable wheather when you can only look at boating pictures of past summer.

S.O. Thanks for the info. Are both the boats yours ? I bet that 20' is nice for rough water . RH

If it was me I would get a 650 dp or a 750dp and start with that. That should be perfect for a stock 460. I think to many people over carb but that is just my thought.

RH, the 20 is mine 100%,also have a 24 V-drive ,and this 19 is owned by my friend and shared with me anytime I wanted it http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif,I do the maintenance in exchange.I just wished we had summer all year long,so I could enjoy these boats more often. Ps; the 20 footer is awesome in rough water ,because I reinforced the bottom with 5 crossframes besides the full length stringers. Also installed a full width 3/4 floor 14 years ago.The inlet [Georgia Straight and general Vancouver area]is quite rough most of the time, and my 20 footer can handle a 3 foot chop at 25 MPH with trimtabs applied.I have the 24 for ocean use anyway [you don't even notice a 3 foot chop with that one,are you project hunters listen?.Get one of those and you don't have to worry about being swamped at Havasu http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif]

Here is the news.....
I put the 600 on yesterday and fired the boat up. After a few cranks on the key it fired right up and idled great! I haven't taken it to the lake yet, but I think it will work for my needs. I am not looking to run hard on top, I just want good response and a strong bottom pull with a nice mid-range.
The old carb was also a 600 Holley.....but it was in dismal shape. The clown who rebuilt it last used sillycone throughout, including around the jets! I didn't want to fool around with a rigged up carb, so I just bought the new one.
Thanks for all of your help fella's.
Steve
Spectra's......
