How long must you hold your boat at that speed for the GPS to make an accurate reading. I used one recently, identical to the one shown, and was dissapointed with the outcome. Maybe I was too optomistic. I am hoping maybe I didn't hold it long enough at top speed, hit some rollers and the pump unloaded.

I think the refresh rate is once every second. I usually hold my top speed pass for three or four just to be sure.
