Dan,
I would expect it to direct water into the impeller.
I saw about 2 mph with my old one, I also got better fuel economy.

I just bolted up a loader. Its one of the angle iron deals. Not a high performace one, but I figure its better than nothin.
My question,
What can I expect the boat to do? Will it do anything to the ride? Speed? Handleing? I have no shoe, or rideplate. I do have a diverter. No droop. Well???

You shouldn't notice any ride differences Dan. Hopefully just a few MPH gain.
yOU SHOULD NOT SEE ANY DIFF IN THE HANDLING. JUST A GOOD CONSTANT LOAD TO THE IMPELLER WITH A INCREASED OUTPUT FLOW.
If it is workin right, your RPM might drop while the MPH rises. In short, it helps the pump be more efficient with the additional water supply.
Good Luck Dan
I noticed with mine that the back end of the boat feels more stable now.
I have no clue what a loader is, new to jet boats. I was gonna look to see if I have one, what should I be looking for? I'm thinking it is on the bottom of the boat where the inlet to the pump area is.
Here's a pic of one style Berkeley makes lots of others out there
