As I start my xmas list of parts for my bbc rebuild, I gotta say I'm at a loss as to which cam to get. Not being totally clueless as I know the basic stuff such as lift = distance valve off seat and duration = time valves are opened. Well with that being said I'm only 99.9% clueless. I can look at Jegs for hours and still not really know what I'm looking at. I guess what I'm getting at is what am I basing my selection on?

Call up Ron or Rich @ Isky Racing Cams. They'll be able to help you on your individual needs not to mention they're top-notch on grinding cams. If you have to leave a voice mail they will call you back the same day.

I would suggest buying Dennis Moore's book on building BBC marine engines. It covers the basic's with alot of good photo's and suggestions.

I looked at Amazon but was shot down as to availability. I could totally use another book in my garage library.
Trivial question: I know that a 468 is a bored out 454, but bored out to what?

Cam should be one of the last items bought. Get your combo figured, heads, intake, and carb then look to match a cam for the engine.

What's the difference between hydraulic roller and a regular roller setup?
