Thread: Timing Marks on 460 ford...

My timing marks have been painted over so I can barely see them....I can see several marks with smaller marks in between them...and on one side it looks like it says ATC and on the other side of the marks is say BTC...which I assume to mean after top center and before top center.....
I was going to set it as 10 degrees Before TC while at idle....but I don't know which mark that would be....
Can someone send me a pic of their timing marks? Or give me a diagram of what they mean.
    Thanks

10* is the fifth line from 0. each line is 2*

OK, I thought is was something like that...but I can't tell where Zero is......
Here's kinda what it looks like
    ATC |''''|''''|''''|''''|BTC
Does this make sense? Woould Zero be the 1/2 way between ATC and BTC? How many degress is each ' mark?
    Thanks

Why guess at it, even the factory stuff is hardly ever right on... The way to make sure is to find absolute TDC and put a timing tape on it!..
