after procrastinating all summer my boat is finally ready for the water.
I finished up the the control cables yesterday, changed the oil, tried to fire it off and it wouldn't run :-(
I figured Monkey had tweaked on my carburetor over the winter, so a rebuild was in order.
I spent the afternoon rebuilding my carb, put it back on, wouldn't run!
Finally determined that the motor would run with the switch in the start position, but not the run position .. that means no voltage to the coil. Then it hit me! DOH! I knocked a wire off my ignition switch while installing the steering.
The moral of the story is check the easy and obvious stuff first before you jump in with both feet.

I wish somebody would have told me that a couple hundred bucks ago. My boat would not start so I bought a new alternater, Starter, and put in dual batteries with swith over then figured out it was a bad solinoid wire. OOPS!! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/redface.gif
