Just got a quote from my Farmers agent on my 1994 Caliber 1 502. Rated the boat @ $20,000 replacement with 450hp. It's covered through the hilt with my wife and I as drivers for $250yr. (If in AZ, Todd Brecto Farmers ins. (480) 991-1255). I'm 29 and the wife is 23. We do have our house and cars with same agent. I'm sure that helped. I did get a break in that my boat is open bow, ie., "Bowrider". That did make a difference. I have heard that a lot of companies won't insure a boat if primary use is on the Parker Strip. Maybe a consideration is to name your local lake if anyone asks. That's all I know on the subject.

Wish I hadA quote for$700.00 Im 34 and have a 1978 28 ft. Hawaiian jet boat and pay $1250.00 per year. Plus I was told if Im not driving or on the boat then the coverage is null and voided. Always looking for lower insurance for something I only use 20-30 days a year...

I have a 1999 20' outlaw with a 350 Kodiak and I am paying $850.00 Canadian. I thought it was high as well but seems to be the best I can do here.....

    Hi guys,
Most insurance company's don't know squat about jet boats. It is my experience that "runabout" boats with "somekind" of automotive engine that runs "right around 40-50 mph" are real easy to insure. It's worth 8000 dollars cuz of the stereo right! I guess my point is don't brag to the insurance about your "bad boat" they wont know the difference. I pay 225 per year through USAA.

Skeep ,I agree with you on one point about ins companies. They forgot about the badass boats of the seventies and eigthies.Only one problem, the few underwriters who rule the boat ins business like boats with no higher than 45 knots top speed, and if you hide the facts they still require your engine output to submit. So best thing not to lie,but give them net horsepower figures, instead of flywheel power. The owner of my ins company is a boater himself and no dummy by any means and sort of ignores the fact that my boat does well over 45.Of course it helps to get insurance when you boated over 30 years without a single claim.
