What prop do you plan on running??
i have a set of 10 degree 15's that are in great condition that i thought i needed but after talking with jim lange about my boat he advised me that a set of 12's would better suit my needs. does anyone have a set they would like to trade or sale? thanks

What prop do you plan on running??
jim suggested a 11x16 merkens or a precision prop seeing how he originally set up this boat i am taking his advice on how to set it up for maximum performance. i should be getting around 600 h.p. i hope from my engine.

Seldom do 2 props turn out the same. With 15 gears in it..you are close enough to try to pull them. Get the prop first. Try to run the 15's. Then hunt for 12's if you can't.
how do you tell if you have to much gearing? fiat are you going to be at cfw on new years? i saw your boat last year but i did not find out it was yours until after i left. thanks for your advice on this project of mine i almost have it ready to go.

Usually gear changes are worth about 400 rpm per gear. You'll know when you try to pack the 15's. 15's at sea level are not a hard gear to pull..especially in a lighter weight boat. Try the 15's first.
CFW is a definate for me. My boat seems to have the bugs worked out now.
