Yep that's it, we're planning this for the 22 thru 25th of July. The drive is about the same for those of us coming from NorCal. Here's a link to some of the chatter about the trip. http://www.banderlog.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=759 Steve and I found the lake last year visiting family in Fruitland, we thought it would be a great place to camp and boat for a week-end, so far there's a few other people towing up with us. We'd be glad to add some boats to this small but distinguished get-together.
We would have liked to go, if you make it an annual thing maybe you could move ahead or back one weekend to avoid PPR date. Lake size looks great! We were a little nervous about towing 430 miles and not being able to reserve a campsite, especially with only 31 available.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting a spot to camp. There really aren't that may people in that part of Oregon and this isn''t a holiday weekend so it wouldn't be a problem. Prineville is a nice lake but Owyhee is probably 5 times or more bigger. >50 long and 1/2-3/4 wide most of the way (at least the parts where I've been).
Sucks about the Portland Poker run though. If you change your mind, I'm sure there wouold be a place to camp. I know there are some sandy spots up the lake too.

Are they going to have enough water for irrigation even?
probably not as much as they would like to have for irrigation, but its been like this for years now so its nothing new. still have a few months to get some moisture.
Whats happening with this trip to Lake Owyhee? Is this still going on in the end of July?
