i know how this boat ran 100+. he was not running a carb. it was a carbarnator.

i need to correct myself. it HAD a CARBERATOR and needs a CARBARNATOR. will it run faster or slower with the CARBARNATOR?

I thought a CARBARNATOR was a carburetor/alternator combo, you know, an all in one deal. It's my understanding that since you free up the hp it takes to turn the alternator the boat will go faster.

So basically at 100mph it would travel 250miles in 2.5 hours while using 20 gallons.. So it gets 12.5mpg at 100mph!!!

Anybody run the HP calculations on this bad boy? Im thinking that I must be down roughly 600HP because I'm using a Q-jet instead of a Holley. Who Knew? Is this gonna be part of the Olds Tech article next month Timinator? LOL

Was putting smaller carb on to make the boat go slower and to conserve fuel. Had Holly 4 barrell and would do 100+MPH and empty 20 gallons in 2 1/2 hours.
Maybe I need to get a smaller carb on my boat.
