I think it is called a packing ring?When do I need to replace this it is on a berkley pump.Do I have to remove the pump to replace it?And on a side note it is winter time what do all of you do to your boat before storing it.Mine is kept in the garage.Anything with the cooling,fuel systems?

if your talking about the seals ,youll know if you get 2 much water leaking out of them .if you tightin the two nuts about a full turn each that might stop it .but we need more info on why your askin. :sleeping:
