ok, i am looking at a brand new 04 28 foot daytona with twin 496 set backs set up real nice or i am looking at a 01, 30 daytona with twin 500 hp efi with about 70 hours but still have full warranty never registered. the 01 is about 5000.00 more than the new o4 which one would you buy and why? i was told the 04 will run about 98mph and the 01 will run about 105 mph

Id go with the 04. I always like newer boats. You know whipple has a nice package for the 496.
Btw: whats up with you 26. Have any pics

I say the 30. Go big or go home!
The 30 handles soooo nice. Better Havasu boat as well, 2 feet is a lot!

30 w/ the 500HP's just in case you want to throw a whipple on the motors later. The HP's can handle a whipple no problem.

I'd go with the 30 and I have a 28 with 500's. SOOOO much more you can do with the 500's now or down the road also.......

I would go new, no question! Your talking 8mph difference for a boat that is a few years old. Twin 496ho is a reliable setup and to be able to design your own graphics, interior, and have peace of mind knowing the boat has been in good hands would make my decision REAL easy!
