    how do you find out what compression ratio your running? 454 genv i have some numbers i wrote down when i changed the pan, these #'s are on the inside of the piston trw 14097021

    thats just what i need but how do you know the piston top volume?

    If you could ID your piston better, you'd be able to get the dome volume from TRW. With the number you provided, I was unable to get a TRW part number. Try posting a thread about the specific part number for the piston in gear heads and hopefully Infomaniac, Fiat, or one of the other gurus will be able to cross reference that number to something usefull. From the digging I did, it looks like that part number might be a GM part number. If thats the case, you might be able to get the spec from a GM parts counter, but I'd check around on the web more first.
