6061 T6 will take anodizing the best unless your going to powder coat and then it does not matter I guess.

If you have separate parts side by side(like cav plates) you want to make sure it comes from the same piece, even though it's 6061 it can come out a different shade, usually it's not noticeable unless you have them right next to each other, I found that out the hard way when I took a set of cav plates back and bitched about the way it came out and the first thing they asked if both plates came off the same sheet, I said no I bought two rems that said 6061 on them!..Education costs!..
