What RPM were you running @ 86mph?
Your boat will likely beat most boats out there that you "might" go up against. Just not CS19!

I have a 19ft Eliminator daytona, a farely heavy layup and am having a motor built that should make around 750 hp. Had the pump setup by Jack at MPD. With that kind of hp about what kind of mph should i be running?
unfortunately, fairly heavy doesn't really say exact weight of the bare hull, or close to it, and around 750 doesn't really say exactly 750, what rpm it makes the hp, what hp the pump will absorb, etc. basically, it's impossible to say how fast it will run without being a little more exact with some info. my "guess" would be that if you can get 650-700 into the pump, and the boat is in the 600lb range, you could get it into the low 90s. but that's just a guess, and you never know what you might be able to do with some hardware adjustments. first race of the season at ming is in march, so maybe bring it out and run river racer, then you'll know. from what you've given, i'd say it's highly unlikely you'll be at 100.
i have that ***boat mag. it was june 1997 edition. the boats name was green envy. it had a 496 chevy with a 8-71 blower runnin 5 lbs of boost and two carbs. it made 800 hp and topped out at 104.6 mph on radar with its setback pump, droop snoot, semi blocker race scoop, ride plate and shoe. the hot boat test team said it was the quickest accelerating boat they have ever tested. it went from 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds. you could run ihba's modified eliminater class (10 second 1/4) with this setup.
a blown 496 in a daytona, and that's it? 0-60 in 5.2? i'd like to see 'em running m.e... there's always room for more

The hull is a 1992. The boat was turning about 5800 at 85 mph. this was before the pump had been gone through so the rpm could be completely different at the same mph now. Thanks for all the input guys. When i take the boat out ill let you know how it does.

5800 w/a "tight" pump would likely be right around 100 for your hull would be my best guess. If you can turn that rpm w/ your new engine then I'd say you'll be happy.....and you'll now like it more cause it will accellerate HARDER w/ your "new" pump.

i am running a fairly light 77 19 daytona.......468 hyd roller bbc with alum heads and 1150 dominator at 6000 rpm with a fairly tight 12jb pump not set back with a stainless b/c impeller 6 degrees up angle on the nozzle with no diverter........it does 85 on the gps......and thats real mph not ebay speed........i am sure there is more in it but i am happy with it lol good luck :rollside:

yes thats with the same motor mentioned earlier. dont know how much horsepower it actually makes, 750 was an estimate. The speed on the gps was 95.8 mph, no ebay speed here either. Its with a b/c impeller set up by jack at mpd.
