went out for the first day of season and had some problems...
the boat is a 2000 21' ultra jet w/ a 454--stock
problem 1-
while stepping on the foot pedal it would get to a point where it would just cut out and not give the boat any gas.
problem 2-
later on while idling I started to hear what sounded like something knocking against the hull. It was inconsistent and would happen a little then go away.
problem 3-
the cutting out in the foot pedal got worse and eventually the boat just cut out and would not start.
Thank you in advance for any ideas or suggestions you have

Guess#1- The cutting out may be fuel starvation/ bad pump. Pull the arrester.... any fuel puddled on the throttle blades? Blip the throttle.... any fuel from the accellerator pump nozzles?
Guess#2- The spline on the pump input shaft are worn..... normal condition with age.

Are you running an electric fuel pump? If so that would be the first thing I checked, along with filters.

Check for water in your fuel.
