    Chain or Gear Drive?
I know chain stretches and gears don't. Is it worth spending the extra on the gear drive?

Pro gear or rollmaster, hughes carries the pro gear set, hardend gears and rolon chain.

Gear drive transfers vibration to valve train. One of the more knowledgable engine guru's can explain better.May not be alot but,to me,not worth it taking the chance.Just my 2 cents

I have always been told that a gear drive verses a chain roller u would lose HP using a gear drive

I am in no way an expert on these things, But:
Jimmy @ J&E put one of these deals in my motor:
    Gear Drive (http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...55&prmenbr=361)
He & Paul have been using them for a number of years, They are in Paul's Daytona running a 528, ColeMan II's Cole running a 468 & I'm pretty sure in all of Sangster's deals.
Seems to be a pretty good unit.

I didn't think it was the chain that was giving you trouble though.

I use either. Cloyes are not holding up and the Rollmaster with the Iwis chain is supposed to be the best chain set available. Trying one of those now in a 541 unblown. Gofastracer likes the Pete Jackson gear drives and has had good luck with them.
