I bought an intercom system at a garage sale today... its called a Flight com 3 system with (2) Peltor 7003 headsets and is expandable to 4... seems to work great, has a stereo input and an output to record etc....... does anyone know if these pilot style I coms hold up in a boat??? I have a 2 station system on order with my new boat but I wouldn't mind saving the $$ if this system I just bought second hand is the real deal.... anyone know?

Those are pretty good intercoms, I used to pack one around for years when I rented airplanes, before everyone started installing panel mounts. As far as durablility goes, airplane cockpits get really hot, and really hold, the portables end up on the floor and kicked around all the time.
My only concern would be it's not weather proof.
The headsets are pretty much top of the line as far as passive noise entenuating headsets go. Peltors are comfy since they don't weigh much, and are pretty quiet, but again with the weather proofing. They arean't designed to get wet.

Ahhh cool, thanks in advance for the info... The com itself looks like it's in an aluminum shell so no corrosion there... this particular com is like 14 years old and I see no rust anywhere so I have to assume it may have non corrosive switches etc...As far as the headsets, they are nice, light, quiet(-24db) comfy and the mic sound good too! I have found a couple of matching headsets on ebay for between $30-$50 so for under $200 a 4 station com system// I think I'm gonna try this route
