Hey Hammer, I got a rebiuld shop down the street from me that probally has one..............they do a lot of marine starters. Just let me know and I'll stop in and get you one.
I've got a top mount reverse spin Prestolite starter that needs a new/replacement (9-tooth gear) for the starter drive unit. Just looking for the gear...if it's available.
#'s on starter drive 480375
#'s on starter MDY7056
Thanks for any leads.

Thanks Rat...see what ya can find out, like I said above, I really (only) need the 9 tooth gear that goes in the "starter drive". I already have 2 complete starter drives...and the gears in both are chewed up pretty bad.
Remember...top mount "reverse spin"!
Prestolite starter # MDY7056 (reverse spin) top mount.
Starter drive # 480375
Heck, I'll take 2 of those gears and rebuild both of my starter drives :rollside:
I'll stop in tomorow morning and report my finding to you then.

Thanks Daddy-O...
I hope they have and will sell just the gear as that's all I need. If so I'll take 2!
Thier parts break down only breaks down to the drive assembly and they want $68.00 plus tax and S&H. You could almost buy a rebiult for that price.

Got your message...thanks!
As I thought, I'll most likely need to purchase a whole starter drive...again, just for one stinking gear! :yuk:
If needed I can do that around here...thanks again.
hey try advance auto they now carry a wide line of boat parts and accs and not bad on the price

thanks for the tip, I'll look into it but if I recall because it is a reverse spin...that made the find much harder. Everyone had to order it.
I wish I could locate a place that actually (rebuilds) the starter drives...maybe I can trade a Philly Cheese Steak for just the gear.
we have a local rebuilder that that works on then i will check with him on monday and let you know
