    I really don't see why everyone always complains about stuff adhered with 5200. It's not like the stuff is bulletproof. It does come off, and actually it is usually easier to clean up the remaining silicone than cheapo bathtub stuff.
    396's method works(be extra careful with flexible hulls) as does the guitar string. Get a "G" string from a set of 11s and you should be styled. Or you can go to an actual hardware store and ask for some piano wire and it will work as well. wrap it around some wood dowel on each end and have at it.

    I never use any type RTV, just the gasket, on and off is a snap!!
