I'm seriously thinking about buying this boat Tomorrow.
It is a 1986 '20 Sleekcraft SST (tunnel) w '86 200hp Yamaha, (tune ups only on motor, no rebuilds)
Any opinions on the ride quality, speed potential, stability, quality and reputation of motor,
    Thoughts on price?
It is a one owner boat, rigged w Left drive and console mounted throttle on Rt. Like a car
That's the way he ordered it from the factory.
I've only drive V hulls so I have no Idea what to expect, this will operate in rivers and lakes only.
The owner says it will do 65-70 which sounds slow since the Hydrostreams are seeing 80 mph w 200 mercs.
What do you think of this vs a comparablly priced 70's Jet w 454?
    Asking $5300

Post this in the Sandbar, it gets more action. You'll get some smart-ass comments but you will also get some good advise. Good luck on the purchase.

I think Pointerman, here on the boards, had one w/2.4 merc he just sold. Price seems ok for a running boat that looks fairly clean. PM pointerman, check the transom for rot. Good luck

Great hull, not the fastest on earth, but not bad.
Should be running mid-high 70's w/out too much trouble.

I bought it, changed the oil and gas and turned 70mph first day out.
I'll get it tuned up next week.
    Thanks
