I installed a Alpine KCA-410C in my boat so I could hook up my iPod. It is an adapter that goes inline the CD changer cable, and allows the rca plugs from an iPod to hook up. The head unit is on one side of the boat, and the AiNet cable runs down and across the boat where the amps, XM, CD changer, and now the 410C are Totally opposite side of boat). This install is on a deckboat that has a refrigerator. The refrigerator is on the side of the boat (right under) as the head unit. Prior to hooking up the 410C, if I turned on the refrigerator, everything worked fine. Now, if I turn on the refrigerator, the stereo hums extremely loudly through all speakers. There was no change in any wiring or routing of any cables on the head unit/refrigerator side of boat. The only change was to put the iPod adapter in line the CD changer cable on the opposite side of the boat.
Any ideas on why this would happen, and possible cures? I just unhooked the refer hot wire for now.
