If it were a overhead cam it would have "SOHC" [Single over-head cam] on the cam covers and have the sparkplugs go thru the top of the cam covers. If it is a cammer it is worth $10-12K on up depending on condition. Seen cammers go for as much as $25K. Complete running wedge engines $4-7K depending on what heads and other parts it has.
They are only worth 50 bucks.....I'll be nice and offer $75.
Just saw a rebuildable 427 Side-Oiler shortblock sell on eBay for over $3000.

IT HAS THE PLUGS IN THE SIDE WITH ONLY ONE CAM. I CAN GET IT FOR 1000 BUCKS!!! HOW CAN I FIND OUT WHAT HEADS IT HAS?STEEL CRANK?AND WHERE ARE THE # TO TELL WHAT YEAR IT IS? WHAT KIND OF HP MIGHT THE STOCK 427 TAVE IN 72. THANKS FOR ALL THE INFO.
058 or I have ford casting number books for the old "FE" motors. I'm sure other do also. Just get the castings and post them.
OH ALSO WHAT IS BETTER 427 OR 429? SAME BLOCK?
Buy the engine for $1000. Before somebody else does. Tonight. Stop reading this and get over there.
There is no relation whatsoever between the 427 and the 429 engine families. The 427 engine you are inquiring about is very rare and valuable.
