Thread: BG Mighty Enduro Fuel Pump

Anyone have any experience (good or bad) with the Barry Grant Mighty Enduro Pump? I just ordered one. It does not need a return...I got tired of trying to regulate the return lines evenly to the side tanks...kind of a pain when cruising the lake.

I've had lousy luck with everything I've bought from them. Two leaky 2-port regulators, a leaky fuel filter, inconsistent pressure bypass regulator...for what they get for their Enduro pump, I hope your luck is better than mine!
Why not install a return line inline to the fuel pump? I'm running mine back to the tank tee. It seems to work out okay.

i'm running that same pump and its working great. make sure your tanks are vented since there isn't a return line.

Thanks for the responses. I never thought of running the return to the fuel inlet line in lieu of to the tanks...
So let me get this straight...Would it work to put a Tee in line just before the pump or filter, and run the return line to it???

Yes return it to where the tanks "T" together is best. But you can "T" into the pump inlet.
This is my favorite. A BG "Y" that ties the tanks togehter and I return fuel to it. Blue hoses are from the tanks. A #10 to the filter/pump and #8 returning in the top
BTW a Clay Smith mechanical pump is the best pump.

Well since I was waiting for the BG pump, I tried this suggestion...I don't think it'll work. I routed the return into the inlet Y as shown above and ran the boat in the driveway yesterday. The existing pump (an Aeromotive 400gph electric) got hot and made a wierd noise. Also, the pressure at the regulator was spiking from 7 to 8 about every 2-3 seconds. When I disconnected the return at the Y, and allowed it to run freely into a gas can, the pump cooled down and sounded normal. It was worth a try...it would have been nice to send the BG pump back and save the $450.

Thanks for the input. You got me thinking it would be best for my application to go mechanical. I looked into the pump you suggested. It seems like a very good pump. However I also came across this one. It costs a little more but it's bitchen. If anyone does not want to run a return, and wants the same volume as an electric pump, this is supposed to be the sh**.
I tried to post the pic...but can't-it is worth going to the website to see this thing...the one shown is for a SB but the BBC is basically the same...

That is a trick looking pump!
I'd be interested in hearing how it works out.
