You always want to know what is going into your engine. It is real hard to set up an engine when you don't know what you got.
they should give you the specs ... usually the engine kit does come with a cam card ... but it's nice to know what you're getting before you buy it.
basically, an RV cam has a larger powerband range ... it's not really a performance or race cam, 99% of the time still hydraulic
